GAMEPLAY

This video showcases our final product of Torch Tales, featuring our original graphics and working gameplay. Though we weren't able to upload it to the AppStore for widespread distribution, we took this as a great representation of the potential we have to succeed in the digital age.

CHARACTER DESIGN

This video showcases a snippet of the process in designing our pixel graphics for Torch Tales. As seen above, I had used Adobe Photoshop to color in each individual pixel. The process was to first design an outline of the character, fill in the foundational colors, then add the shading and details.

Welcome to my project Torch Tales! Torch Tales was the first app development project I worked on. In my senior year of high school, a group of friends and I had decided to create a pixel themed platform game that featured concepts and designs unique to our time in high school. We decided that our characters would feature members of the administration, with our main character being our principal, Mr. Hurworth. The game featured the administration office, high-school themed power-ups (dodge balls, late slips and coffee), and high school students who were enemies.

This project served as a catalyst for my interest in programming, design, and marketing, and exposed me to various aspects within the technology industry. Below you can see the various pixel art sprites and images I learned how to design as well as actual gameplay of Torch Tales.
